Questions About Settlement

Q1: Can you help with opening a bank account? Yes. We have partner relationships with the largest Hungarian banks, who are well-equipped to serve foreign clients. We assist with booking the appointment and preparing the documents so that account opening can be completed in a single visit.

Q2: How quickly can we find a flat? As a rule, thanks to our pre-screening, a suitable property can be found and contracted within 1 week of arrival. We recommend starting our collaboration 2–3 weeks before you arrive.

Q3: Does my driving licence need to be nostrified? It depends on where you are from. EU licences are accepted directly, but third-country licences typically require nostrification after 1 year. We assist with this at the Document Centre as well.

Q4: Do you help with health insurance? Yes. Insurance is mandatory for a residence permit. We help you choose a package from private insurers, or — if you are in employment — with obtaining the Hungarian state social insurance (TAJ card).
